In the Philippines, every May 14-15 the Carabao Festival is celebrated in San Isidro, Labrador (the patron saint of the farmers) in Pulilan, Bulacan. The water buffalos are shaved. Oiled and designed and they are paraded in ornaments of fabulous floats towards the town’s church.
One of the countries of the world will be celebrating the UEFA Championship Final (otherwise known as the United European Football Association) Liverpool against AC Milan on May 23rd of this year. This event will be held in Athens, Greece at the Olympic Stadium.
In the town of Essaouira in Morocco, the annual World Music Festival will be held on June 19-23. Performers from different countries of the world are expected to attend the said festival. This town has always been the travelers’ favorite and it is also a nice venue for the performance of the Gnaouas (who are known for their tousled hats that spin vigorously as the artist rock).
The ongoing world event of UNESCO (or United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) is focused on placing the greatest man-made and all natural sites onto the World Heritage Site registry. The purpose of which is to preserve them for the benefit of the next generation; for them to enjoy the beauty and wonders and what the different countries of the world have left to offer to them.
Another upcoming event on May 26 onwards until September 9, 2007 is the Mediterranean Festival that will be held in Surrey, England. This festival will feature the celebration of summer through the enjoyment of scents, sights and sounds of the regional Mediterranean in the Kew Gardens.
From June to August 2007, the countries of the world will join the festivity of the famous and renowned classical Greek Drama Fest, and this happens every summer Peloponnesse (a nicely preserved theater just two hours away from Athens, Greece) at te Ancient Theater of Epidarus.
And lastly in Versailles, France is the Fetes de Nuit, something to look forward to every summer from August to September (only on Fridays and Saturdays), which allow spectators to go back in time while rendering a marvelous visualization and illumination. The event this year is entitled “Wedding of the Infant King" which concentrates on the engagement of the Spanish princess and the young Louis XV.
